Protest rally against law & order

ITANAGAR, Sept 13: Stepping up its demand for resignation of Home Minister Tanga Byaling, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh has decided to organize a  Raj Bhawan Chalo protest rally against deteriorating law and order situation in the state, particularly in the Capital Complex on Sept 15 next.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Arunachal Pradesh, a front wing of the BJP, will  spearhead  the Raj Bhawan Chalo Rally in protest against the deteriorating law and order situation and demanding resignation of Home Minister.

The protesters will also submit a memorandum to the Governor demanding immediate step for improvement of law and order, resignation of home minister on moral ground, halt on fraudulent diversion of development funds and early restoration of NH52-A at Karsingsa sinking zone, proper road connectivity within capital region, renovation of all sector roads and to stop mass political transfer and postings, according to a BJP release.

The BJP has been alleging total break down of law and order in the state since the abduction of businessman K P Chacko who was  later killed by the abductors and said that Home Minister should step down owning moral responsibility.

State BJP has been claiming that “the rape and murder of a woman in West Siang, missing of an ADC to Governor, escaping of under-trial prisoners, burning down of SE office, kidnapping of Superintending Engineer (RWD), countless incidents of sexual assault on women and minor girls” speak volumes about lawlessness in the state and helplessness of the state government.

However, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress  Committee (APCC) and other frontal wings of the Congress party refused to buy the argument of the BJP.

Questioning the BJP’s sensibility towards crime, APCC chief Padi Richo had said the state BJP's demand for Home Minister Tanga Byaling's resignation was unethical and insensible at a time when the state has been facing multifarious problems. “Crimes are occurring everywhere wherever human beings are settled including in different parts of the country which does not call for demanding the resignation of home minister of those states,” Richo had reasoned.

Large number of BJP workers, leaders and MLAs  are expected to take part in the rally.
