Protest rally against law & order
ITANAGAR, Sept 13: Stepping up its demand for resignation of Home Minister Tanga Byaling, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh has decided to organize a Raj Bhawan Chalo protest rally against deteriorating law and order situation in the state, particularly in the Capital Complex on Sept 15 next.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Arunachal Pradesh, a front wing of the BJP, will spearhead the Raj Bhawan Chalo Rally in protest against the deteriorating law and order situation and demanding resignation of Home Minister.
The protesters will also submit a memorandum to the Governor demanding immediate
step for improvement of law and order, resignation of home minister on moral ground,
halt on fraudulent diversion of development funds and early restoration of NH52-
The BJP has been alleging total break down of law and order in the state since the abduction of businessman K P Chacko who was later killed by the abductors and said that Home Minister should step down owning moral responsibility.

Questioning the BJP’s sensibility towards crime, APCC chief Padi Richo had said the state BJP's demand for Home Minister Tanga Byaling's resignation was unethical and insensible at a time when the state has been facing multifarious problems. “Crimes are occurring everywhere wherever human beings are settled including in different parts of the country which does not call for demanding the resignation of home minister of those states,” Richo had reasoned.

Awareness campaign on eye donation
PASIGHAT, Sept 13: An awareness campaign on eye donation to commemorate the “Eye donation fortnight” is being organized by the District Blindness Control Society (DBCS) in East Siang district.
Addressing the eye donation awareness camp organized at Daying Ering Memorial Higher Secondary School here today, East Siang DMO Dr. Dubom Bagra called for concerted efforts to make the people aware of the need to donate all important human organs for the needy patients. Throwing lights on eye donation in particular, Bagra said one could deposit cornea at the General Hospital and the hospital does not take treatment fees for cornea transplantation. DMO also gave various health tips to the students for healthy and hygienic life.
Senior Ophthalmologist Dr. Y R Darang who is also Medical Superintendent of GHP explained the need of eye donation and the steps being taken by H and FW department to create awareness among people. She spoke at length about the salient facts of curable corneal blindness and the various eye donation awareness initiatives through power point presentations. Corneal diseases cause visual impairment and blindness in the developing world. The number of corneal transplants done so far is far less than the actual requirement in India. This is largely due to the inadequate number of corneas collected.

Foundation organise motor driving training

ZIRO, Sept 13: On successful completion of second batch of ‘One month motor driving training’ organized by Taro Opey Foundation (TOF) in collaboration with District Transport Officer (DTO), Ziro for unemployment youth of Hija village, a valedictory function was organized here at Tailyang Dukung Nyello, Kundo today.
Attending the programme, Lower Subansiri district Zilla chairperson Hage Kobing while appreciating TOF for taking up such an innovative service especially for the unemployed youths, appealed other NGOs to learn a lesson from their activities.
R P Gupta, MVI Ziro who attended the programme on behalf of DTO Ziro said that the training programme conducted by the TOF is first of its kind in the state where an NGO is imparting driving training to unemployed youths on free of cost.
Observing that most of the vehicular accident occurs due to negligence of driver, Gupta who monitored the entire training programme cautioned all the successful trainees to be careful while driving vehicles.
Earlier, TOF secretary Taro Tallo, in his speech while highlighting the activities taken up by the foundation since its inception in 2007 has disclosed that first batch of driving training was conducted last year.
Sponsored by Rajya Sabha MP Mukut Mithi, this second batch of trainees with 10 unemployed youths mostly dropout students have been given training. Our motive of giving training is to boost the confidence of unemployed youths and make them self dependent, he added.

Veteran Football Cup Tournament begins
ITANAGAR, Sept 13: The "Veteran Football Cup Tournament" organized by the World Cup Hangover Committee, Yazali was kick started at Yazali football stadium ground today.

YUPIA, Sept 13: Twenty persons were found without any ID or address proof during Inner Line Pass(ILP) checking drive carried out at Rajiv Gandhi University junction yesterday.
Later, all the defaulters were deported to other side of the check gate.
Meanwhile, CO Gumto Marchina said that during the two days checking drive it was learnt that most of the local guardians of labourers who despite being aware of BEFR Act 1873 did not bother to make ILP for the labourers.
Marchina further said that instead of educating the outsiders regarding ILP, we need to educate our own people in this regard.
The CO instructed the police personnel to intensify ILP checking in the check gate.
